Orleans Registrar of Voters Talks Recall Signature Process

Updated: 12:46 p.m. CDT March 23, 2023

The Orleans electoral roll is holding a press conference Thursday to discuss the recall signature certification process. Sandra Wilson is expected to make the recordings available for media review during the 1:00 p.m. press conference. This comes after WDSU spoke to Wilson solely about the certification process. Wilson hasn’t spoken at all about the recall process up to this point. According to Wilson, the signature certification process was no fun because it required thousands of copies of signatures and double-counted the same signatures for accuracy. The recall attempt against Cantrell failed after only 27,000 signatures were certified. A total of 45,000 signatures were required to put on a ballot for Orleans Township voters.
