Some Lesser Known Facts About Namitha Pramod

• Namitha Pramod is an Indian actress who predominantly works in the Malayalam cinemas and television industry. She is known for playing the role of Jennie in the Malayalam film Amar Akbar Anthony (2015).

• Brought up by Malayali parents in Kerala, Namitha was fond of acting since childhood and she started her career as a child actor when she was a seventh-grade student. In an interview, Namitha Pramod talked about this and said,
  

  Usually when new heroines are brought in for a film, they are put in front of the camera only a week after the start of shooting. Till then shooting method and other things will be taught to them through experience. Satyanank himself has said that there were no such difficulties in my case. As a child actor, I didn’t have the fear of standing in front of the camera because I acted in some serials and small films.”

• In 2007, Namitha made her acting debut as a child actress with the television show Amme Devi in which she played the role of Devi. Subsequently, she appeared in various television shows like Vellankanni Mathavu (2007), Ente Manasaputhri (2007), Ente Manasaputhri (2008), and Ulladakkum (2008).

• In 2011, Namitha made her film debut with the Malayalam film Traffic. In 2012, she appeared in the film Puthiya Theerangal in which she played the lead role of Thamara. Subsequently, she appeared in many Malayalam films like Sound Thoma (2013), En Kaadhal Pudhithu (2014), Villali Veeran (2014), Adi Kapyare Kootamani, Kammara Sambhavam (2018), Al Mallu (2020), and Margamkali (2019).

• In 2022, Namitha was featured in the lead role of Advocate Aswathy in Nadeershah’s Malayalam film Esho. In an interview, she talked about the different roles she played in Malayalam films and said,
  

  I have prepared a lot for some of my films specially for my character Thamara in “Puthiya Theerangal”. I learned swimming and I got myself tanned for the film. The film demanded my look to be different. In terms of acting, I had to work a lot for the character Maya in “Law Point”. I had to bring in lot of nuances for that character and the film itself was in a different kind of genre. I had to train myself to be Maya. Then there was “Pullipulikalum Attinkuttiyum”, Kainakari Jayasree is a dancer and I haven’t learned classical dance. So I learned dance for that. See, that’s what I love being in this industry. You get to learn so much and you play such interesting characters. I love all my characters. They all have been wonderful.”

• Namitha Pramod has been featured in many TV commercials like Vikas Money Limited, Manjali Jewellers, Elanadu Ghee, and Kiwi Ice Cream.

• Namitha Pramod, during an interview, said that she had decided to quit her acting career after her marriage. Further, in the same interview, Namitha discussed the reason and said she wanted to enjoy her marital life. She explained,
  

  There won’t be many problems with other jobs. But in cinema, one has to leave their family for around 70 days. When you have children, who’ll look after them? Our mother care for us very much. So I have a wish to become a good mother. Many appreciated my decision, including actors. I’ll start thinking about marriage once someone special comes into my life.”

• In an interview, Namitha Pramod said that she was not active on social media platforms. Further, Namitha discussed the reason and said that she didn’t want her name to be dragged into controversies. Due to controversial subjects, she never joined the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC).

• Namitha Pramod, during an interview, lambasted a section of media houses for dragging her name into unnecessary controversies. She said,
  

  One should enquire about the authenticity of a report before actually publishing it. It is not right to allege that someone is part of a case as casually as publishing a gossip story. I was upset in the beginning, often wondering why I had been unnecessarily dragged into all these. But I must say that the support that I got from my family and friends is incredible.”

• In 2023, Namitha started a cafe named Summer Town Cafe in Panampilly Nagar, Kochi, India. Namitha, during an interview, talked about her new venture and said that owing to her fascination with food, she decided to open a cafe. Namitha, while discussing the same, said,
  

  When I called people for the inauguration of the cafe and said that I have something to tell you, everyone asked are you getting married. When a person aged 26 or 27 calls, the first thing everyone asks is about the wedding. I once asked my father when I should get married. The reply was that you can get married whenever you like, it’s no big deal.”

• In an interview, Namitha said that after her retirement from films, she wanted to work as a professor in a college. She said,
  

  You know my biggest dream is to be a professor in some college. I love to teach. One day when I have my own family away from all these buzz around me, I will be teaching somewhere in a prestigious college with a Ph.D. So, my studies are important to me. In fact, a few hours back I enrolled myself as a sociology student at St. Teresa’s college in Ernakulam. I want my studies and profession to go hand in hand.”
