A new video series called Modern Horror Movie Talk recently made its premiere on the Arrow in the Head Show YouTube channel, and with each episode of this show we’ll be joining host Tyler Nichols as he covers all new horror releases, the latest horror movie news, and new horror trailers. Films discussed in the first episode of Modern Horror Movie Talk included Cocaine Bear, Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving, and The Pope’s Exorcist. The second episode covered the newly released entry in the Children of the Corn franchise, as well as the trailer for The Blackening. Now, for the third episode, Tyler is joined by guest co-host Lance Vlcek to discuss Scream VI (read our review HERE). Although set in New York City, Scream VI was actually filmed in Montreal. Directed by Scream 2022 directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett from a screenplay by Scream 2022 writers James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, this one shows us what happens when the four survivors of the Ghostface killings leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.
Those four survivors are the Scream 2022 characters played by returning stars Melissa Barrera (as Samantha Carpenter), Jenna Ortega (as Samantha’s sister Tara Carpenter), Jasmin Savoy Brown (as Mindy Meeks-Martin), and Mason Gooding (as Mindy’s brother Chad Meeks-Martin). Courteney Cox reprises the role of Gale Weathers. Jack Champion, Liana Liberato, Devyn Nekoda, Josh Segarra, Samara Weaving, Tony Revolori, Dermot Mulroney, and Henry Czerny are also in the cast, along with Scream 4‘s Hayden Panettiere, who’s back as Kirby Reed.
Neve Campbell was asked to reprise the role of franchise heroine Sidney Prescott in Scream 6, but passed on it due to a pay dispute.
Vanderbilt produced Scream 6 with Paul Neinstein and William Sherak for Project X Entertainment. Original Scream screenwriter Kevin Willamson serves as executive producer alongside Chad Villella, Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad, Marianne Maddalena, and Spyglass’s Gary Barber and Peter Oillataguerre.
