Mammootty extends support to Gothra community as chieftains meet him during film shoot

Veteran actor Mammootty has extended support to the welfare of the Gothra community who came to meet him during the shoot of a film in Chethalayam forest area in Wayanad. The actor and the rest of the crew were shooting at Kolarattukunnu area for the film ‘Kannur Squad.’

The Vettathur tribe who live in scarcity on the banks of the Kabani River in the interiors of forests reached Kolarattukunnu yesterday to meet the actor and the crew. The students of the Vettathur school (which has only one teacher) were elated to meet a film star and witness a film shooting for the first time.

Mammootty enquired about their studies and offered every possible help in furthering their education. His charitable organisation Care and Share International Foundation will be there to help them. The tribe that visited the megastar was headed by chieftains Shekharan and Dhandukkan.

They were offered new clothes. It was managing director Fr Thomas Kurian Marotipuzha who offered aid under the Foundation’s Poorvikam project. South Wayanad DFO A Shajna, Chethalayam Range Officer K P Abdul Samad, project director George Sebastian, and Vettathur school teacher Maya all spoke on the occasion.
