LSU Women’s Basketball Score vs. Hawaii: Live updates from March Madness

BATON ROUGE — A quality measure of exactly how far ahead Kim Mulkey is in her rebuild of LSU women’s basketball gets its true starting point Friday afternoon.

The three-time national championship-winning coach has guided the Tigers to back-to-back NCAA tournament berths to begin their stint at Baton Rouge. The No. 3 LSU (28-2) takes on the No. 14 Hawaii (18-14) at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in the first round Friday (4:30 p.m. ESPN2).

Last season, the Tigers, also No. 3 seeded, struggled mightily against Jackson State in the opening game of March Madness before madness caught up with them in round two when lower-seeded Ohio State knocked them out on their own floor.
