ELLISVILLE, Mississippi (WDAM) — John Dussouy was unveiled as Jones College’s first-ever volleyball coach at a news conference Wednesday afternoon.
Jones will start acting in the fall of 2024. The New Orleans native comes to Ellisville after spending the 2010-22 season as an assistant coach/recruiter at Coastal Alabama-South in Bay Minette, Alabama.
Dussouy helped the Sun Chiefs to 11 straight seasons, seven 20-win seasons and four ACCC runners-up finishes. During that time, he coached 43 players from all regions and helped 36 student-athletes transition into four-year programs.
In addition to his work at Coastal Alabama-South, Dussouy has been the head coach of the Eastern Shore Volleyball Club for the past eight years, where he has won 14 club championships and has a .700 win percentage. He also coached for the Gulf Coast region’s high-performance team, which has played against other regions in the United States and teams from various countries.
He has been a certified athletic coach since 2000, serving in high school, junior college and Division I athletics and minor league baseball.
Dussouy was the first outside hitter and captain of the Southern Miss men’s volleyball club team from 1994 to 1997, where he received his bachelor’s degree in sports medicine and his master’s degree in coaching/sports administration.
Dussouy is married to the former Angela Brocato and the couple have a 16-year-old daughter, Addisyn.
