If the first round of this year’s NCAA men’s basketball tournament showed anything, we still have a few dandy weeks in college basketball ahead of us when the round of 32 begins on Saturday.

#13 Furman Paladins vs. #5 San Diego State Aztecs

Although the Aztecs weren’t overly dominant in the first round, they played well enough to get past the College of Charleston and advanced to the Round of 32 for the first time in 2015. Southern Conference champion Furman drove a late three-pointer from Garrett Hein to defeat Virginia by four seeds and will see if the glass slipper fits to advance to the next round for the first time since 1974.
#15 Princeton Tigers vs. #7 Missouri Tigers

In a catfight, one team isn’t surprised they made it to the second round, the other is a complete surprise. Missouri hadn’t won an opening round game in over a decade, but a big play by D’Moi Hodge helped them get past Utah State. They will attempt to advance into the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2009. Princeton won a tournament game for the first time in this century when they stunned the Pac-12 champion Arizona Wildcats Thursday night.
No. 8 Maryland Terrapins vs. No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide

Alabama had no trouble making the round of 32 for the third time in five years, retiring against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Thursday night and looking to make the Sweet 16 for the second time in three seasons. The Terrapins had a tougher time in their tournament opener against West Virginia, and although it’s been seven years since they reached the regional semifinals, Maryland will have a tough time.

No. 4 Tennessee Volunteers vs. No. 5 Duke Blue Devils
- Time: 2:40 p.m. ET
- Where: Amway Center (Orlando, Florida)

In our first heavyweight matchups of the tournament, the ACC Champion Blue Devils will be hoping to build on an easy win over Oral Roberts. It’s been seven years since Duke has made the Sweet 16 in consecutive seasons. Tennessee had its moments against Louisiana on Thursday but did enough to overcome the fear and looked to advance to the next round for the first time in four years.

No. 9 Auburn Tigers vs. No. 1 Houston Cougars
- Time: 7:10 p.m. ET

Houston, the country’s No. 1 entry into the tournament, flexed its muscles on Thursday night and still has high hopes of making the Final Four. While Iowa appeared to be a good fit with the Tigers, Auburn looked confident of clinching an 83-75 win and will now be looking to make the Sweet 16 for the first time in four years.
No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions vs. No. 2 Texas Longhorns

The Longhorns, who held a convincing 20-point win over Colgate in the opening round, are attempting to advance past the second round for the first time since 2008. Texas A&M entered its second round Thursday night for the seventh time in program history.

#8 Arkansas Razorbacks vs. #1 Kansas Jayhawks
- Time: 5:15 p.m. ET
- Where: Wells Fargo Arena (Des Moines, Iowa)

The defending champion Jayhawks are looking to find their way back into the Final Four and got off to a good start with a nearly 30-point win over Howard on Thursday. The Razorbacks showed guts and determination in their first-round matchup against Illinois and are one win away from being promoted to the Sweet 16 for the third straight season.
#7 Northwestern Wildcats vs. #2 UCLA Bruins

Despite losing in the Pac-12 title game, the Bruins at least made it further than Arizona and clinched a big win over UNC Asheville as they will also have a chance to make it through the second round for a third consecutive year. After a disappointing end to the Big Ten tournament, Northwestern bounced back by beating Boise State to just claim the program’s second NCAA tournament win.
