The convoy of Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State was involved in a road accident, along Malumfashi resulting to the death of three while several others were injured.
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that one of deceased was a nephew of the governor.
The accident happened on Friday night near a village called Jimkamshi, while the Governor and his entourage were heading to Kafur, his hometown, for Saturday’s governorship and State House of Assembly elections.
This newspaper gathered that two police officers were part of the fatalities, namely Kabir Adamu and Nura Safiyanu, while a few others sustained various degrees of injuries and now receiving treatment in a hospital.
The Spokesperson for the police command in Katsina state, Gambo Isah and media aide to the state governor, Al-amin Isah, both confirmed the incident.
“Two policemen that died are Nura Sufayanu, Kabir Ali, and Amadu Ali, a nephew to the governor.
“The accident happened in a village called Gadar Tsuntsaye near Jikamshi in Musawa Local Government Area.
“Three other people are receiving treatment at Malumfashi General Hospital,” Isah said.
