NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) — In this edition of FFF: The Black and Gold, the favorites for the NFC South crown are Manchester City’s Erling Haaland can’t stop scoring, and a visit to a BBQ joint in the CBD.
FOOTBALL
The addition of David Carr alone catapulted the Saints among the favorites in the NFC South. But the Black and Gold also included Mike Thomas, Jaamal Williams and Jameis Winston to solidify what could be a strong offense.
These additions have led Caesars Sportsbook to install New Orleans (+120) as the top dog in the division. The Panthers (+300), Falcons (+380) and Bucs (+460) bring up the rear.
Well, last year the Saints were preseason favorites too, so let’s just calm down, it’s only March.
The regular season doesn’t start until September, but the Who-Dats need positive news, and it’s being delivered.
FUTBOL
Erling Haaland is only 22 years old (we actually have the same birthday, July 21st) but he is establishing himself as the best player in the world.
He’s scored eight games in two games this week alone. I repeat, two games, eight goals, unreal.
Manchester City’s scoring machine dropped five in the back against RB Leipzig in the Champions League and on Saturday he amassed another three in the FA Cup against Burnley.
He is ready to lead Manchester City to the English Premier League title and also snatch the Champions League trophy.
Haaland also plays for Norway. A country that has not participated in the World Cup since 1998. With the World Championship expanding from 32 to 48 in 2026, there is now a better chance he will be able to feature in this tournament soon.
Which is great for Americans as the 2026 edition will be held in Mexico, Canada and the United States. He gave us the chance to see his greatness in person.
EAT
There’s a new grill place in New Orleans, and it’s called the Devil Moon Barbeque.
Devil Moon did a setup recording in the central business district at the Odeon. This is part of the South Market District.
To keep up with the pricey location, I recommend bringing a little extra cash for the food.
A platter with two meats (boudin and two ribs), two sides (mac and cheese, dirty rice) and a coke was $27.
It’s by far the most I’ve paid for BBQ in NOLA. I enjoyed the boudin but the final receipt was an eye opener.
