Donald Trump Is Actually Going To Face Criminal Charges?! Wait, REALLY?!

Well, this is a long time coming… if it actually happens. Donald Trump is apparently about to face, for the first time ever, criminal charges!

According to a bombshell new report in The New York Times — which has since been verified by other news outlets, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg sent official notification to Trump’s legal team offering him the chance to speak in front of the grand jury. This is apparently a move that only happens right before criminal charges are filed! The grand jury has been hearing evidence in the case for months, and this is one of the final steps before indictment — meaning it’s happening soon! Wow!

Wait, so… which case is this?

Over the past few years, Trump has been an orange hair’s width away from prosecution several times. There’s the time he took top secret classified documents from the government and refused to return them. The Mueller Report made the clear case he committed obstruction of justice. Georgia is investigating whether he committed a crime in trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

But in NYC, where Trump lived for many years, there’s so much more. There’s the criminal self-dealing which caused the Trump Foundation and its execs to be barred from participating in charity. And back in December the Trump Organization was actually found guilty on all counts of tax fraud. The CFO went down for that… but Trump himself somehow skated away again. As for the first case to actually get him indicted? Turns out it all comes down to Stormy Daniels.

Yep, the adult film actress Trump allegedly cheated with while Melania Trump was home with their newborn child. While cheating isn’t a crime — even bareback with a porn star — the attempt to cover it up was. Heck, Trump’s personal “fixer” Michael Cohen went to prison for it!

Cohen paid Stormy $130,000 in hush money to keep quiet about the affair, so that it wouldn’t hurt Trump’s chances in the 2016 election — which would be an illegal campaign contribution. He made clear both for prosecutors and later for Congress that this was all done at the direction of “Individual #1” — aka Donald Trump. He testified before the House of Representatives way back in 2019:

“He asked me to pay off an adult film star with whom he had an affair, and to lie to his wife about it, which I did… Mr. Trump directed me to use my own personal funds from a Home Equity Line of Credit to avoid any money being traced back to him that could negatively impact his campaign.”

Again, there was enough evidence to put Cohen in prison. Why not Trump? We mean, that’s how crime bosses go to prison — their underlings flip on them (you know, that practice Trump said “ought to be illegal.”

Well, it’s always been the political sensitivity, hasn’t it? Not just because he was the POTUS but because he complained at every turn that any investigation of him was a biased political “witch hunt.” If the facts were against him, it was because it was a conspiracy. So everyone has been handling him with kid gloves for all these years. But it sounds like the gloves are off.

In a statement through his 2024 presidential campaign, Trump responded to the story of his likely impending indictment. First he maintained he “did absolutely nothing wrong” — denying he even had sex with Daniels, whom he referred to as “Horseface.” This man was the President of the United States. Horseface. Let that sink in for a moment. *sigh* He further called the investigation — big shocker, “a political Witch-Hunt” run by a “radical left prosecutor” and designed to “take down the leading candidate, by far, in the Republican Party.”

Hey, look, if you went to see A-Ha and they didn’t play Take On Me, you’d be disappointed, right?

Legal experts say Trump is highly unlikely to actually speak before the grand jury as anything he said would be admissible against him. The last time he actually was forced to be deposed in a litigation, he pleaded the fifth amendment for every single question.
