Police want to speak to a man in connection with the investigation into the death of Nathan Millard.
Millard, of Covington, Georgia, had previously gone missing in Baton Rouge before his body was found in a rolled-up rug covered in plastic. His body was found five kilometers from where he disappeared over two weeks ago.
Earlier this week, a Louisiana coroner said there was no evidence of trauma to Millard’s body. Authorities previously said they could trace Millard’s whereabouts using surveillance video at several different businesses throughout the Baton Rouge area. One of the stops he made was at a Greyhound bus stop, where a security guard offered to help him.
“The security guard offered to give him a ride, offered to get him an Uber to call the police for him. He didn’t seem distressed, she just felt out of place. He declined that offer and left of his own volition,” said Captain Kevin Hines of the Baton Rouge Police Department’s SVU unit.
Now Baton Rouge Police said they are trying to locate Derrick Perkins, 45, who was last seen in the South Baton Rouge area driving a 2003 Toyota Camry.
Authorities added that they are also looking for Perkins for violating probation, criminal damage to property and triple access device fraud, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Anyone with information on Perkins’ whereabouts is asked to call the Baton Rouge Police Department.
