Tight end of the Las Vegas Raiders Forester Moreaua Jesuit High School graduate and former LSU star, leaves the NFL after being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. he announced on Wednesday via Twitter.
In one thread, Foster said he learned the news during an investigation conducted by the New Orleans Saints’ medical team. Moreau said he is optimistic he will return to the football field after treatment.
“Through a miraculous process, this period of free agency changed my life,” Moreau wrote on Twitter. “During a routine exam conducted by the Saint’s medical team in New Orleans, I learned that I have Hodgkin’s lymphoma and will be retiring from football at this time to fight a new opponent: cancer.”

Moreau, a Jesuit football and basketball player, was the last player in the 2015 LSU undersigning class but made a significant impression with the Tigers from 2015-2018.
Over the course of 30 collegiate games, he had 52 receptions for 629 yards and six touchdowns. Moreau, one of the Tigers’ leaders, was chosen to wear the No. 18 as a senior. The then-Oakland Raiders took him to the fourth round of the 2019 NFL draft.
Over the next four years as a raider, he hauled in 91 catches for 1,107 yards and 12 touchdowns, playing on an offense led by new Saints quarterback Derek Carr.
