Reservoirs around the metro are showing signs of resurgence amid the ongoing water crisis and restrictions.
After reaching critically low levels, the Garstfontein reservoir has recovered to 62%.
Elardus Park is stable at 45% and the water supply has been restored in the area.
“Rand Water has channelled more water to the Bronberg reservoir, which has risen from 3% to 12%. The reservoir outlet is throttled to allow the reservoir to recover hence residents in Lombardy, Shere AH, Silver Lakes & parts of Mamelodi East areas are still without water,” said the metro via a released statement.

Updates are expected to be provided to residents on when water will be returned to those areas as a team is engaging with Rand Water.
Moreleta reservoir was one of the reservoirs that were throttled to assist Garsfontein’s recovery, and the Murrayfield reservoir is still throttled.
The Heights reservoir in Pretoria West has fully recovered and the level is sitting at 87%.
Magaliesberg/Rosslyn reservoirs are recovering as well, currently sitting at 32%, however, Soshanguve residents are still feeling the water pinch.
“Soshanguve’s reservoir is still struggling at 20%. We are unable to pump to the tower zone that supplies the high-lying areas. We have throttled the reservoir slightly more to hold back more water in the reservoir. Supply from Rand Water is still insufficient,” the metro continued.
Laudium’s water supply is struggling as well at 8%. The metro says that this is due to Rand Water having water available to supply the area.
