Heaven Hell, the TV anime adaptation of Jigokuraku The manga of the same name revealed the new trailer It features a new cast of characters for its television debut this coming April. The anime series ran from 2018 to 2021 and the screen brings together 13 volumes of the anime series that appeared on Shueisha’s Jump+ website and app.
The trailer introduces new cast members who will add excitement to the anime adaptation. Newly announced characters include Chiaki Kobayashi, who played Langa Hasegawa in SK8 The Infinity. New cast members revealed in the trailer include:
- Yamada Asemon Shion voiced by Chikahiro Kobayashi
- Nurugai is voiced by Makoto Koichi
- Yamado Asaimon Senta, voiced by Daiki Yamashita
- Yamada Asaimon Tenza, voiced by Yusuke Kobayashi
Other pre-confirmed actors for the series include Rie Takahashi (Yuzuriha), Tetsu Inada (Tamiya Gantetsusai), Kensho Ono (Yamada Asaeomon Toma), Aoi Ichikawa (Yamada Asaemon Fuchi), and Ryohei Kimura (Aza Chobe).
The series is directed by Kaori Makita, who previously directed the Twitter animated feature Birds Never Fly – The Clouds Gather.. It will be broadcast worldwide including the US, Europe, Australia, Africa and New Zealand through Crunchyroll with Netflix handling the broadcast in all of Asia Pacific except Japan and China. The English version of the series has been released by VIZ Media and Manga Plus, with the title Hell’s Paradise: Jigoraku.
Set during the end of the Edo period, Hell’s Paradise revolves around Gabimaru, a shinobi who is now on death row. He was believed to be the most powerful shinobi in Iwagakure. As he is set to be acquitted and released, many believe that Gabimaru is the one who can bring back the elixir of life from Sukhavati, rumored to be a pure Buddhist land. Along with executioner Yamada Asaemop Sagiri, the series follows Gabimaru’s search for the Elixir of Life.
Along the way, he encounters other convicts on death row and also searches for the elixir of life, as well as dozens of unknown creatures, frightening man-made statues, and a hermit who is said to be the ruler of the island.
