Cody Rhodes and Rhea Ripley won the 2023 men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches on Saturday night in San Antonio, entering from No. 30 and No. 1, respectively. However, neither of them emerged from the matches unscathed, as both revealed that they had suffered minor injuries during the show. Rhodes casually admitted in a post-match interview with Fox SportsRyan Satin reported that he blew his eardrum during the match, while Ripley’s knee dislocated at one point and had to be pushed inside immediately.
“My knee isn’t very good in general. I dislocated my knee for a second, then it came back in. I feel really good now, and because of all my feelings, I’m really excited, so I’m blocking out everything else. If anything, I can smell the blood in my mouth.” My nose, and that sure is there, but my knee is good,” Ripley said in the post-show press conference.

Rhodes suffered a lacerated chest last year while training for his Hell in a Cell match with Seth Rollins in June in Chicago. He revealed during an interview with Ariel Halawani that he did not obtain an official permit to return to the ring until the day of the show.
“That experience was that I had my partial vindication of that. I was able to do whatever I wanted, my wind was good, and I was training intensely with a PT and an off-site team that my wife got for me. I hadn’t been completely filtered out until today.
