A park found a human skull in a Phoenix park two weeks ago. Now authorities have discovered more remains and closed the park.

Parts of Phoenix’s South Mountain Park and Preserve are temporarily closed while investigators search for evidence in a murder, police said Sunday.

During a search Saturday, police said investigators found additional human remains and they were turned over to the Maricopa County Forensic Center.

Because of signs of trauma on the skull, police said the death is being investigated as a homicide.

Police said detectives are actively following all leads and working with the county medical examiner’s office to identify the victim.
