Azimio director Martha Karua lost her temper with journalists during a press conference on Monday, Dec. 5, in Raila Odinga’s Capitol Hill office.

Karua, told a journalist who asked Azimio leaders to respond to claims made by President William Ruto and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua.

The first question was whether Odinga was trying to use the nationwide protest to force Ruto into a handshake.

“Yesterday the vice president said you are trying to mobilize UKTN to pressure the government so that you can shake hands. What is your opinion about this?’ said a journalist.

“You certainly don’t expect our leader to respond to anyone who says something unfounded. You better go back to that source and give you facts to prove what he says is true,” Karua replied.

A second journalist was also not spared when he tried to find out why the opposition had not gone to court to challenge government actions, as suggested by Ruto.

“Earlier, the president challenged the Azimio leader to go to court if he felt he had problems with his government. Are you planning to go down that road?” asked the media person.

“Since when did the competition become the senior advisor or cheerleader? Let’s be serious and let’s do what people think is right for them in the position they are in. We reject unsolicited advice,” Karua replied.
