Who Is Summer Spellman?

Summer Spellman is the adoptive daughter of Drew Spellman (Tom Goodwin) and the goddaughter of Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank). Summer was initially played by Matilda Freeman, she gave her first on-screen appearance on 16th June 2017. After Drew’s death, Summer Spellman is kept in the care of Billy and his boyfriend, Todd Grimshaw (Bruno Langley). In October 2020, Freeman announced that she would quit her role. Summer thanked the viewers, cast, and crew members. Then her character was replaced by Harriet Bibby, who performed in the guest roles on Doctors and Brassic before joining the soap.

She lost the only parent she’d ever known in 2017 when Drew passed away because of complications caused by cancer. She is very mature for her age because of the complications she suffered. Summer is an intelligent girl, and she is a very close friend of Amy Barlow. She lives at 19a Victoria Street with their partners, Aaron Sandford and Jacob Hay. In 2022, she became pregnant. She permitted Esther Hargrave and Mike to adopt the baby in exchange for £10,000. She did this to pay for Aaron’s alcoholic father, Eric to get him into a rehabilitation center. She still lives in Victoria Street and works as a PA at the Underworld factory.
