New Delhi: The Vijay Hazare Trophy (50 overs) has started. In this, many star batsmen are seen proving their form. Maharashtra batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad created a ruckus in the match played between Maharashtra and Railways on Saturday.
Gaikwad continued his fine form by scoring his 12th List A century. He played an unbeaten knock of 124 runs in 123 balls to give an easy 7-wicket win over Railways. Railways scored 218 runs for 8 wickets. In his stormy innings, Ruturaj hit 8 fours-7 sixes. His team’s opener Rahul Tripathi also performed brilliantly, hitting 10 fours and a six, scoring 75 runs in 80 balls. Thanks to the brilliant batting of both, Maharashtra achieved the target in 38.2 overs.

Brilliant bowling by Shamshujma Qazi
Shamshujma Kazi performed well in the bowling for Maharashtra. He took 2 wickets for just 26 runs in 10 overs. Mukesh Chaudhary, Manoj Ingle, Satyajit Bachan and Azim Qazi also got a wicket each. For Railways, Shivam Chaudhary 46, Vivek Singh 32, Mohammad Saif 22, Upendra Yadav 21, Shubham Choubey 22 and Karn Sharma contributed 40 runs.
List A average of 55.52
Ruturaj Gaikwad has scored 3498 runs in 67 innings of 68 List A matches. He has an average of 55.52 in List A. He has so far scored 12 centuries and 16 half-centuries. In domestic cricket, his bat is consistently running out of runs. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he created a ruckus by scoring centuries against Kerala and Service.
Ruturaj has played only one ODI
Although he has got a chance to play only one ODI for Team India till now. He made his debut against South Africa in Lucknow on 6 October 2022, in which he was dismissed for 19 runs. If Ruturaj continues his stellar form, he could be included in the ODI World Cup to be held in India next year.
