The campaign directorate of Jigawa gubernatorial candidate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Mustapha Sule Lamido, has condemned what it described as the barbaric act of illegality of pulling down its billboards.
The cowardly act was allegedly perpetrated by the supporter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Hadejia city.
A press statement issued and signed by Comrade Umar Kyari Jitau Madamuwa, deputy director, media and publicity of Santuraki campaign directorate, said the negative political behavior in this era of developing Nigeria can be equated to the dark age of politics of the 16th century.
‘’We want to remind APC and its leadership in the state of the recent peace accord signed by political parties and their presidential candidates in Abuja which they also attended were bidding on all parties and their members.”
It said APC in Jigawa state, based on the realities on ground has lost hopes and that explains why it was difficult for the party to commence writing its handing over note.
The statement added that successful outing of their presidential
candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and their gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Lamido, Santurakin Dutse, during their recent visit to Hadejia city confirmed the PDP’s preparedness to take over Jigawa state in 2023.
‘’We are appealing to our supporters to remain calm and law abiding as all necessary measures are being taken to avoid the repeat of the negative act,” the party said.
