World Cup ruling body FIFA have ordered NFF to pay Gernot Rohr the remainder of his contract in US Dollars even though he had agreed to be paid in Naira.

Rohr revealed the FIFA ruling in an interview with Eagle7FM.

FIFA ruled that his dismissal was “unjust”.

Rohr was owed six months’ salary before he was sacked in December 2021 with a year still left on his contract with Nigeria.

Rohr said he agreed to be paid his monthly salary of $45,000 in Naira after he received assurances from the NFF that he could convert it to foreign currency.

He further admitted that the lure of leading the Eagles to the 2022 World Cup I Qatar was another reason he agreed to be the first foreign coach to be paid in the local currency.

He took over the Eagles in 2016 with the team ranked 69th in the FIFA rankings.

He left the team as the 30th best team in the world.
