WhatsApp is one of the most widely-used applications in the world, and has become an indispensable communication tool for a large part of the population.
Being one of the apps with the most users worldwide, it makes sense that each update is measured to the millimetre before being launched on the market.
One of these updates has just been released, and is related to privacy.
WhatsApp‘s latest update has been in the testing phase for several months, but it has finally arrived. With this update, we will be able to personalise our privacy options even more.
For example, choosing who sees your profile picture, deciding who can and cannot see when you were last online, and who can or can’t see your status.
This new set of options will catch many users off guard, but others will already know of their existence, as the first tests began in September 2021, and the options have been offered to some users since.
The new system was further expanded in March 2022, albeit to a new, smaller batch of users.
WhatsApp‘s new privacy options are now available to all users, as long as they can update their application to the latest version.
According to WhatsApp‘s Twitter account, there are more updates too.
“We’ve added some updates to a WhatsApp favourite,” they said. “When it comes to group calls, you can now mute others, send messages to specific people, and see a banner when someone joins off screen.”
